About

Eran Shmueli is an artist whose creative process is deeply meditative and connected to the sea. Working from his studio on the Greek island of Lesvos, just fifteen meters from the shoreline, he spends long hours observing the ever-changing reflections of light, weather, and motion on the water’s surface.

Each painting emerges slowly, through a quiet dialogue between hand, ink, and atmosphere. Using pen and ink on paper, Eran captures the rhythm of the sea in thousands of delicate, deliberate gestures — much like visual breathing. His works are not literal depictions but emotional landscapes, where time seems to dissolve.

Through his paintings, Eran seeks to create a space of calm and contemplation. Viewers often describe a sense of inner stillness, as if the artwork itself were expanding and breathing with the ocean. His art invites you to pause, to forget for a moment, and to simply feel.
